USIEF ANNOUNCES 2011-12 FULBRIGHT-NEHRU FELLOWSHIPS

NEW DELHI -- The United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) announces the opening of its annual competition for Fulbright-Nehru and other Fulbright fellowship opportunities for study, research, teaching and professional development in the United States.

Outstanding Indian students, academics, teachers, policy planners, administrators, and professionals in all disciplines are encouraged to apply. The U.S.-India bilateral Fulbright agreement has resulted in a significant increase in the number of scholarships awarded each year. USIEF expects to offer approximately 110 Fulbright-Nehru fellowships for Indians in 2011.

Fellowship details are posted on the USIEF’s website: www.usief.org.in. Deadlines for applications begin May 1, 2010. For more information, applicants may contact the USIEF offices in Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, or New Delhi.

The objective of these awards is to recoganise and suitably reward the efforts of the men and women who have dedicated their life to Gandhian Constructive Work and the ideals which Jamnalal Bajaj had cherished all his life.

Our friend Mr Ayyappa Masagi of Water Literacy Foundation was honoured with JBA 2009.

Apply for Yashwant Yuva Fellowship


Nav Maharashtra Yuva Abhiyan of Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan, Mumbai invites appilcations for Yashwant Yuva Fellowship with a motive to provide guidance and financial support to young social activists in Maharashtra, working creatively in the sectors of education, health, social, economically backward sections, employment, agriculture and water, environment, etc.
Some points to be noted:
  • 4 activists will be chosen, one from each of Western Maharshtra, Konkan, Vidarbha and Marathwada.
  • Fellowship period will be minimum 1 year and maximum 2 years.
  • The age of the applicant should be between 25 and 35 years as on 6 February 2010.
  • The applicant must be atleast a graduate.
  • The applicant must have worked for minimum 5 years in the social sectorof Maharashtra through youth activities or organisations.
  • Last date of application: 6 February 2010.
